Elusive me.....

Drowsy eyes
But sleep eludes me
Tired mind
But rest eludes me
Restless heart
But contentment eludes me
Fake smile
But happiness eludes me
Friendship abound
But trust eludes me
Love makes the world go around
But it eludes me……

In the sands of time.....

In the sands of time
Footprints are left
Of people who knew
What they wanted to do

Money, fame and adulation
Is not what they craved for
Being a change agent
Is what they were meant for

Fighting against all odds
Rising against all blocks
Sacrificing their needs
Losing their sleep

They moved forward
Unhindered and uninhibited
True to their word
Loyal to their creed

Awakening the hero in all of us
To grow,prosper and develop
Giving us freedom
And ability to dream

Lest their efforts go waste
Let's put our best foot forward
Leaving our footprints in sands of time
For future generations to see

That there walked a noble soul
On the face of earth
Who cared not for himself
But for the entire generations to be......

A Poem by Theodre Tilton - This too shall pass away

Read this poem sometime back....touched me deeply...and holds true for all of us in all times....good or bad.... read the poem with the story of the king to get the context of it.......:)

This too shall pass......

One morning, the boy Solomon saw the goldsmith who works for King David's Palace walk out of the palace very desperate and sad. Salomon asked the goldsmith with curiosity, what makes you feel so sad and desperate? The goldsmith answered, I have to provide a solution to the King within seven days. If not I will be taken out of my job. I am really confused because there is no solution for what the King has asked.

What is the solution that the King is looking for? Solomon was curious. The goldsmith presented the demand of the King to Solomon as follows: I need to make a gold ring for the king with an inscription on it which should help the king not to be very happy and forget the divine truth at his happy moments. At the same time the inscriptions on it should help him not to lose his heart when he is facing failures and desperations. Immediately Solomon gave what he needs to inscribe on it:

He said write as follows "This too shall pass."

This Too Shall Pass Away

Once in Persia reigned a King,
Who upon his signet ring
Graved a maxim true and wise,
Which, if held before his eyes,
Gave him counsel at a glance,
Fit for every change and chance.
Solemn words, and these are they;
"Even this shall pass away."

Trains of camels through the sand
Brought him gems from Samarcand;
Fleets of galleys through the seas
Brought him pearls to match with these;
But he counted not his gain,
Treasures of mine or main;
"What is wealth?" the king would say;
"Even this shall pass away."

Mid the revels of his court,
At the zenith of his sport,
When the palms of all his guests,
Burned with clapping at his jests,
He, amid his figs and wine;
Cried, 'O loving friends of mine;
Pleasures come, but not to stay;
"Even this shall pass away"

Lady, fairest ever seen,
Was the bride he crowned his queen.
Pillowed on his marriage bed,
Softly to his soul he said:
Though no bridegroom ever passed;
Fairer bosom to his breast,
Mortal flesh must come to clay-
"Even this shall pass away"

Fighting on a furious field,
Once a javelin pierced his shield;
Soldiers, with a loud lament,
Bore him bleeding to his tent.
Groaning from his tortured side,
"Pain is hard to bear," he cried;
"But with patience, day by day,
Even this shall pass away.

Towering in the public square,
Twenty cubits in the air,
Rose his statue carved in stone.
Then the king, disguised, unknown,
Stood before his sculptured name,
Musing meekly: "What is fame?"
Fame is but a slow decay;
Even this shall pass away.

Struck with palsy, sore and old,
Waiting at the Gates of Gold,
Said he with his dying breath,
"Life is done, but what is death?"
Then, in answer to the king,
Fell a sun beam on his ring,
"Even this shall pass away."

What makes me go around........:)

What makes me go around?
Its desire

Darkness I fear
Light I desire

Loss weakens me
Victory I desire

Helplessness prevails
Guidance I desire

Loneliness kills
A Hug I desire

Tears in eyes
Happiness I desire

Valentines Day is around
Love I desire……:)

What make me go around?
Desire, desire and more desire

Ishqiya.....a movie to watch out for.....

Nice movie....awesome story....bloody good songs....and award winning performances...watch it to believe it....

The best part about his movies are that he shows that movies can be made in India in some distant corner and still be successful....you need not go to new york or some blissful location to make a movie....what makes a movie is its content.....the best part of the movie is the scene where a character goes to a temple and moves out of the back door to go to a beauty parlour....so these activities are not limited to the cities alone and are present even in the smallest of locations.....

Am sure he is the next desi Quentin Tarentino......way to go....

Chetan Bhagat - The New Age Indian....

Recently attended an investor conferences organised by one of the reputed brokerage houses...as a part of the event they had organised a small one hour gyan session with Mr Chetan Bhagat....

The 1st thing that comes to your mind when you hear him speak is that he comes across as a sincere guy....He was not bombastic about how good a writer he is or how he has arrived in life....

The crux of the lecture on how he managed to be a writer was....

1) The 1st step is to find out what you like to do.....it might come from within with luck or it might come with struggle....but it will come if you are serious enough(as a kid he wanted to watch TV but his father being a army man was strict and never used to allow his kids to watch TV. So to circumvent this he and his brother used to makeup stories and narrate it to each other....tats how he got his knack of writing stories....

2) The 2nd step to moving on in life beyond your job is to realise that money is not the only thing but self actualisation is (he left his job as a director of a MNC bank to start writing cuz one day he realised how boring and irritating his life had become...he wrote his 1st novel at work)

3) The 3rd step to come out of our comfort zone is to convince your family....(it took him two years to convince his wife that he wanted to be a professional writer)

and finally he concluded saying....."Dont be serious....be sincere"

I normally am not fond of speeches but liked this session as what he said made sense and all of us in the room could relate to it.....

Wish all of us are able to do "Not what needs to be done but what we desire......."

My feelings for you......

See it in my eyes
My love for you

Feel it in my heart
How much i adore you

Hear it in my words
My feelings for you

Sense it in my behaviour
How much i care for you

In anticipation i wait
That someday you realise
How much i need you....

Letting go

A poem by a sweet friend......

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I met a person not known to me
But he felt like someone known to me

Didn't believe god made people like him
With a sweet heart and less sin

But he asked me to let him go
And there i was seeing him go

Don't look at me and say goodbye
Don't say those words to make me cry

Walk away if you have to go
But you will break my heart
And i wont ever let you know....

Pretty Lady

A poem for a pretty lady......

Hey Pretty lady let me go

Etched are the precious moments
Which had me asking for more

Forgive the tears and sorrow
But remember the smiles and jokes

Remember love is eternal
But dont wait for me till eternity

Fight for what is your due
But dont give up as i gave up on you

Love makes world go around
But i could not come around

Hey pretty lady,
Thanks for coming in my life
Making me realise what love is all about
